Styrian Delight

22.11.2009 – Not far from Graz you will find the largest mountain pasture of the alps. Offering the so called “Drachentour”, this region is predestined for extensive mountain bike rides.
In November 2009, Daniel, Herwig, Horst (www.sillylines.com), Martin, Wolfgang and I took advantage of the great weather and went out for a beautiful ride in this area. We had only 3°C in Graz and almost 20°C on the summit – I just love the inversion in late fall! :-)

After about 1200 vertical meters of riding the Drachentour and another 100 vertical meters shouldering our bikes, we reached the top of this days summit (1505m).

After an extended break, we headed westwards for the downhill. The characteristics of the trails down the mountain were not as tricky as others, but very flowy.

As the minister of the so called “Ministry of Silly Lines himself“, Horst lived up to his name and rode one of the silliest lines I’ve ever seen. Just look and see…

In the end, everyone of us made it down in one piece with a big fat smile on his face. We’ll be back!
